Song Spell #27 Toro Y Moi - Still Sound

 Still Sound

Level: Intermediate

Appearance: The caster emits a haunting sound that sounds like some sort of unknown instrument. Depending on how the caster utilizes the spell, sound can be seen, and it resembles thousands of oscillating strands that float amidst granular fragments of some unknown substance.

Effect: Still sound has a variety of effects in relation to sound. They are listed below.

Still sound can be used to take phrases or prepared sounds and make them activate whenever the caster wishes, with the initial preparation requiring the caster to demonstrate what sound they intend to use later with the spell.

Still sound allows the caster to alter the volume and clarity of any sound present and record it in the casters memory to be replayed later.

Still sound can affect a specified object by nullifying the objects’ ability to give off sound, making a sound source where any sort of audible noise cannot travel from it but rather exist there as a conduit to absorb sound. This will act as a sponge, and it will make prevailing silence radially around the caster while holding the object.

Still sound can highlight sound as mentioned above, freezing it in place for the caster to follow its trail to whatever source that the sound is coming from.

Still sound can be used to alter the sonic texture of any object or substance when a noise is created from it.

Still sound can alter the casters voice any way they choose.

Duration: Still sound is one use, with the effects lasting at most 10 minutes. To sustain the spell past that point the caster must make a successful spellcasting roll.

Range: The furthest range of this spell is found with the nullification effect, which has a radius of 10 feet for sound absorption. As for the sound storage effect, the caster may activate the spell from the object or from the caster, with no range required.

Type: Evocation and transfiguration

This song is very pleasant and warm. The video demonstrates this well.
