Song Spell #32 Ween - Cold Blows the Wind

 Cold Blows the Wind

Level: Intermediate

Appearance: The warrior of camville is very fair and has a light build. They wield a sword and then a great sword, buckler and then a large shield. They have gray eyes and deathly pale skin. They feel as if they are made of loose soil and earthy moss, and when the Camville warrior says anything, they have a peculiar structure to their sentences in some unknown literary format lost to time. Their bones rattle inside their body, and their hair hangs in rivulets, damp with cold. There is a slight veridian tint to the armor of the Camville warrior, but otherwise the armor is dulled and shabby.

Effect: This spell recreates the events of an ancient and tragic parable. The spell is in stages, and each affect the caster as well as people around the caster. The effects are listed below in order. This spell must be a preemptive casting, as the warrior of camville takes hours before they rise. They can be stopped if hit with enough damage, and upon doing so, the resolution of the parable will not be met, and the spell will not be able to be cast by the caster for 12 cycles.

Cold blows the drops of rain - The air will begin to stir with a freezing gale, bringing moisture from the walls and ceilings. It begins to rain, casting freezing drops onto the floor.

One true love - Amidst the cold rain and freezing wind, a figure will rise from the stone, armored in mail and plate, and pale as death.

In Camville he was slain - The figure will state their titles in life, and the harrowing details of their demise in camville. They will swear their sword to the casters party for the duration of the spell.

I’ll sit and weep down by his grave for twelve month and one day - The dead body of camville will be haunted by someone who still mourns their passing. This will cause the freezing rain to follow the camville warrior and will conjure great dread and fear in the enemies of the caster.

This young man he arose - After one hour of the Camville warriors’ presence, they will gain great strength and valor for the cause of the party. This will come with a general feverish behavior that arises in the Camville warrior, with his fixation on the tragic events of their lifetime.

One kiss, one kiss of your lily white lips - The Camville warrior will gain immense strength far beyond the previous enhancement of their power, with the inclusion of a large shield pressed with the shape of a beautiful wildflower, and a greatsword that is one handed with ease by the Camville warrior.

cold as my clay - The Camville warrior will lose all sensation, becoming numb to all pain. They will become a husk driven only by their true love.

the garden grove where we used to walk - The Camville warrior will be reminded of their true love, signaling an end to their rising power.

pluck the finest flower of them all twill wither to a stalk - The Camville warrior will have one last burst of combat prowess, before their body and armor begin to atrophy and crumble away.

the dungeon deep - The Camville warrior will seek a place of rest, and request that the party grant them that honor. For the first time the rain will begin to clear. There will be a enveloping darkness that emanates from all around and a lack of words from the Camville warrior.

Water from a stone - The freezing rains will well up and create pools of cold water. Reflections of the Camville warrior before their death can be seen in them, before the stone hungrily drinks the water, and calls for the return of the Camville warrior.

ill lie down in it and take one sleep for twelve month and one day - The freezing rains will clear, and the cold winds subside. The Camville warrior will lay to rest once again, sinking into stone and pebbled soil.

Duration: This whole spell will last one cycle, paraphrasing a year long process.

Range: Summoning range

Type: Evocation

This is an excellent interpretation of the Unquiet Grave by ween. I love ominous and downtrodden stories and this song delivers in that respect.
